Makeup revolution fastbase….

This brand is getting big! Very big and bringing out some awesome products and even launching a new PRO range which I am super excited for! And last month they bought out thier first foundation in the form of the fast base foundation stick.

I ordered 3 shades the minute it came out and had to guess my shade online which sadly didn’t work out great for me as they don’t have a shade that fits my undertones. I bought a concealer, contour and foundation shade. The contour shade is the only wearable shade for me sadly and I have to say the others were too light for me and not right.

I was so impressed by how creamy the formula was and it didn’t instantly dry so good for blending out, however….as an oily kinda gal this formula didn’t sit well with my skin, no pun intended! It kind of slid off my skin after a couple of hours, so it required a lot of powder and baking to make it set and even then it didn’t gel well with my skin type sadly.

I had such high hopes for this as the price point is amazing at only £5 and I feel if you have dry skin this will be amazing for you as it’s so creamy and hydrating as it have a dewy/satin finish to it. I still have serious love for this brand an am super excited to try out the new PRO range!

If anyone else has tried this please let me know how you got on….

Conceal and define

Now I know we are barely into January but already a very exciting piece of makeup has been launched. It is from my favs make up revolution and it’s the conceal and define full coverage concealer and contour.

They have bought out a large range for all skin colours, and they have shades perfect for concealing and contouring. They have been hotly anticipated and once available I was eager to check them out for myself in my local Superdrug.

After seeing the swatches online I thought I would be a c5 or c6 and wanted to look for a contouring shade. After swatching these for myself I went for c5 for concealing and a c14 for my contour shade.

I used these the next day as I was so excited and I have to say….I was super impressed! Nice and thick…hence the great coverage and they blended out really well. I don’t usually suffer with creasing under my eye so that wasn’t an issue for me, and as they were so pigmented I didn’t need a lot for concealer or contour so these amazingly priced (£4 each) products will last me agesssss! I used the darker shade to contour my cheeks and used small dots as it so pigmented and I was shook! It blended out so well and I was left with an awesome natural contour!

I love makeup revolution and am on thier mailing list but I bought these items myself as I was so excited to use them! Check them out in Superdrug or online at tam beauty!

Glow on….

Everyone loves a glow, whatever the season or weather we always like a glow and I have found a collection of drugstore products that will make you glow like mad but in no way break the bank!!

Firstly the base, now I have found a pretty good dupe for Mac store cream….and it’s only £4! It’s the Mua prism strobe cream in flash. I mix this in with my foundation to help give me a dewy base. And try and avoid using to much powder when going for a glowy look!

After you have concealed and cream contoured it’s onto the magic! Now liquid highlighters are everywhere and whilst I love iconic and cover fx my loves makeup revolution bought out there own version and the colour liquid champagne is such a dupe for the ‘original’ shade by iconic. I put drops on my Cupid’s bow, nose, highest points of my cheeks and slightly above the eyebrows and blend in with my sponge.

And to finish it and make it pop I add the strobe highlight from makeup revolution, a gentle dusting with a flat tan brush and the look is done and the highlight is poppin’!!!

All products are available from either tan beauty or from Superdrug! Check these out for a bargain glow!

Gigi hadid X maybelline

As you may have seen recently, Gigi hadid has teamed up with maybelline and created her own range of products. I’m a sucker for pretty packaging and this range was right up my street! It’s a nude pink, it’s sleek and it’s holographic….so instagramable!

I ordered 3 items from the range as the mascara was just lash sensational repackaged and a few other items were out of stock sadly. So I picked up a ‘warm’ eyeshadow palette, gold strobe liquid and one of the lip kits.

The lip kit is a lipstick and lip liner and I got the shade ‘taura’ which is APPARENTLY Gigi’s signature shade….to be fair it’s a lovely nude and very creamy and wearable! The liner too is a nice nude and very creamy and easy to apply. It’s also lasted really well too and didnt have much of a drying feeling.

The next item was the ‘warm’ eyeshadow palette. I will say it’s very glittery and shimmery but the colours aren’t too harsh so they are good for a natural shimmery look. On the back it even has a little guide about how to use the colours and apply the shadows to create a natural easy to wear (and apply) , smokey eye.

The last item was the golden strobe liquid which I really like! It’s great to mix with your foundation for an all over dewy look or to just apply to the cheekbones for a subtle glow, it also it is great to apply a powder highlight over the top of for a more intense highlight.

I actually really liked the products I got and all though the eye palette ain’t as dark as my usual eye shadows it’s really lovely and wearable! Let me know if you’ve tried any other products from this range and what you think!!

November favourites…

Hi and welcome to my November favourites! Keep reading to see what items I’ve been loving/trying out this November!

My first product I’ve been loving this sleepy lotion/cream from lush, I have made a more in depth post about this if you want to take a look. It’s really helped me sleep deeper and wake up more refreshed!

My second item was bought on a whim to make up my order to get free delivery! It’s the LA girl concealer. I’ve had their colour corrected before so had always wanted to to the ‘normal’ concealer and I’m glad I did, it’s great coverage and for the price (under £5) it’s a bargain!

Now my next item is my favourite….something I had wanted for ages and was so happy when it popped up when it was Black Friday and I got a bargain! I got my hands on a morphe palette and these colours are me in a palette…especially for the bargain price of £11.50….thankyouuu beauty bay!

Another makeup palette I’ve got my hands on is the makeup revolution brighter than your future highlight palette! I have done a blog post and a YouTube video on (https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCQHbLYeqZwyOscFpw8VF21g?layout=mobile&client=mv-google) explaining how much I love it and what to do with the shades you may not use so you get the most out of your £15

The last item on my list is skincare. I was contacted by this brand called ‘luvenesco’ and asked if I wanted to try out their product and I was more than happy too! It’s a retinol hydrating cream so it adds moisture and it’s anti-ageing too….perfect for winter!

Brighter than your future!

I am a big fan of makeup revolution and have been lucky to be sent some of their items as blogger mail, but this I couldn’t wait for and knew I needed to own. So The day it came out I ordered it and eagerly check the post everyday until it arrived. For a testing video please see my YouTube video https://t.co/n56IWE4ZhB

It is a large plastic highlighter palette which included baked highlights, gradient highlight, shimmer bricks and trio and 4 standard highlights. I love the names of the pans too…shook, extra and bougie were a few of my favs! I couldn’t wait to have a play with this and I was not disappointed!

As you can see by my nose and Cupid’s bow….the glow is real! This is a combination of the colours LIT and EXTRA (also used on my cheeks) and I used SLAY on the inner corners of my eyes to make them pop! These shades as so beautiful and glittery and I think they will also make lovely eye shadows too. I’m so excited to have a play around with this palette as it’s so pigmented and perfect for the glitzy Christmas season!

I ordered this online from tam beauty and it was £15 and if I say so, it was worth the money! They do a palette for lighter skin tones too which is called glow getter and it has an identical design and layout.

Best and worst foundations

Now I will start off by saying I have slightly oily skin so that instantly will change how I feel about a foundation! And I do also suffer from adult acne (joy!) So if you are a slightly to full on oily faces person then please do read on!

I will start with my least favourite….the Rimmel breathable foundation. This for me was a huge no…NOOO….within about 4 hours I felt oily and shiny and the coverage was gone? I really had high hopes for this foundation and was a bit sad it didn’t work for me!

Another least favourite of mine is the L’Oréal infallible. It’s a very think and heavy consistency so I had to mix it with true match to ‘even it out’ it did what it says on the tin and is very full coverage which usually I like….and I did, until it completely broke me out and my skin hated it sadly!

Now onto a fav, the ordinary foundation. I use this the ‘lighten’ my regular foundation for those less tanned days. It takes a little mixing in to fully bind with my other foundation but I love how it feels on my skin and although I have adult acne this foundation doesn’t cause my skin to breakout too much

Now onto my fav, my ride or die foundation! Mac studio fix! I love that I don’t have to use too much to get an awesome coverage that stays out and doesn’t let oil through or give me the ‘shiny’ look I really hate and battle with

Bourjois Matte Velvet

Oh my goodness…..I can not thank influenster enough for sending me this! The whole range of the velvet matte lipsticks!!! I get to try out all these lipsticks and take a million selfies now haha!

My favs were the more muted/nude shades like no.1 and no.2 but I did also love the red/orange shade and the very shades are so intense. The tear shape lipstick is perfect for application and really hugs the lips for all over solid colour.

They have a smooth feeling texture and dry to give you a lovely hydrating feel which doesn’t crack or make your lips feel dry and flaky and they last all day! Eating and drinking is no issue for these. I’m so excited to wear these lipsticks and really embrace some autumnal makeup looks with the darker shades!

This new range is available throughout many drugstores I.e Superdrug and boots and I really recommend you go and check these out! I am a die hard liquid lipstick fan but these have become a firm favourite on my lips.
