Brighter than your future!

I am a big fan of makeup revolution and have been lucky to be sent some of their items as blogger mail, but this I couldn’t wait for and knew I needed to own. So The day it came out I ordered it and eagerly check the post everyday until it arrived. For a testing video please see my YouTube video https://t.co/n56IWE4ZhB

It is a large plastic highlighter palette which included baked highlights, gradient highlight, shimmer bricks and trio and 4 standard highlights. I love the names of the pans too…shook, extra and bougie were a few of my favs! I couldn’t wait to have a play with this and I was not disappointed!

As you can see by my nose and Cupid’s bow….the glow is real! This is a combination of the colours LIT and EXTRA (also used on my cheeks) and I used SLAY on the inner corners of my eyes to make them pop! These shades as so beautiful and glittery and I think they will also make lovely eye shadows too. I’m so excited to have a play around with this palette as it’s so pigmented and perfect for the glitzy Christmas season!

I ordered this online from tam beauty and it was £15 and if I say so, it was worth the money! They do a palette for lighter skin tones too which is called glow getter and it has an identical design and layout.

Can we dress each other?

I’ll start by saying that this awesome idea was not mine, well not fully mine, it was an idea that developed into a plan. It was suggested to me by the guy I’m seeing, that maybe we should buy each other an outfit with little help from the other person! I was all for it as I was very interested to see what he would pick for me.

We headed to the nearest shopping centre and started off with a walk around a few various shops and gauged an idea of what the other one did and didnt like!! Safe to say he was actually better at it than me with guessing what I would/wouldn’t like!

Then it was time to split up and shop….I had an idea in my head of the outfit I thought would look good and I had previously dropped some non-subtle hints whilst perusing the shops as to what I think I may buy him! I opted for neutral colours, black grey and khaki as I know they looked good on him! I ended up buying it all from H&M as it was really disappointing to realise that men just don’t have the vast amount of choice we do, and that their shopping options/choices are so limited and so much smaller compared to ours.

I went with and bought a beige/stone coloured knotted style jumper, a black zip up hoodie (unzipped) and a dark khaki green bomber jacket teamed with black skinny jeans. This, to me, was such a good colour palette for him as it really suits him.

Then it was my turn….and as a self confessed picky person I was so happy with what was chosen/bought! A black velvet style bodysuit with lace up and beading detail on the chest, a great black pair of ripped jeans (perfect staple and fit) and a distressed light blue denim jacket all from topshop. This outfit is so me and I can’t wait to wear it out! He got the sizes perfect and I think this was such a good idea he had!

This was such a good day out and I highly recommend you put your partner/friend to this challenge and see what they choose for you and see what they would like to see in! Or has anyone else done this kind of thing? If so how did it go?

BTS Bridal Shoot

So a few weeks ago I was very lucky to have been asked to be a hair model and then a bridal model for the day! I was given this idea by one of the girls doing my hair that maybe I should blog about my day, so here it goes….

First off all the day started off in the salon getting my hair curled, pinned and put up! They had chosen such a lovely bridal hair design that I couldn’t wait to see the end result! I had done my makeup myself and opted for a simple cut crease with a nude lip so nothing was detracted away from the hair and dress. My hair was curled and put into rollers and then it was off to the next venue….the hotel/bridal show.

We were in a stunning local hotel amongst other bridal related stalls and hair/makeup/beauticians. It was there we had our hair finished off and the final ‘hair look’ was created, which you can see below, the girls are so talented at the hair boutique Truro and I couldn’t believe how good it looked!

After the bridal show it was a quick drive down to the bridal studio and we were given our dresses. We were so lucky to be included in this shoot as it was for a rebranding of a lovely wedding dress studio, Elaine Rawlings bridal. We were given our dresses and shoes and then it was a short walk to the stunning location!

It was being shot in the garden of a huge townhouse. The garden was gorgeous it was filled with lovely flowers, weeping willows and lovely little corners which were perfect for photographs! I’ve just had a couple of images back to share with you and I’m so pleased with how they’ve turned out!

Best and worst foundations

Now I will start off by saying I have slightly oily skin so that instantly will change how I feel about a foundation! And I do also suffer from adult acne (joy!) So if you are a slightly to full on oily faces person then please do read on!

I will start with my least favourite….the Rimmel breathable foundation. This for me was a huge no…NOOO….within about 4 hours I felt oily and shiny and the coverage was gone? I really had high hopes for this foundation and was a bit sad it didn’t work for me!

Another least favourite of mine is the L’Oréal infallible. It’s a very think and heavy consistency so I had to mix it with true match to ‘even it out’ it did what it says on the tin and is very full coverage which usually I like….and I did, until it completely broke me out and my skin hated it sadly!

Now onto a fav, the ordinary foundation. I use this the ‘lighten’ my regular foundation for those less tanned days. It takes a little mixing in to fully bind with my other foundation but I love how it feels on my skin and although I have adult acne this foundation doesn’t cause my skin to breakout too much

Now onto my fav, my ride or die foundation! Mac studio fix! I love that I don’t have to use too much to get an awesome coverage that stays out and doesn’t let oil through or give me the ‘shiny’ look I really hate and battle with

W7

I’ve heard of w7 for a while and had been introduced to them by seeing various youtubers using their eye palettes as they have been making dupes of big name palettes. But when they bought out a naked heat dupe then I had check them out to make a purchase (or 4)

I bought the blazin’ eye palette, glowcomotion highlighter, lip scrub, contour sticks and the winter nudes lipstick. All the items arrived within 4 days of ordering and the postage was free so that was a nice bonus too!

The first and most exciting product was the naked heat dupe called blazin’ the colour are very similar and I was very pleasantly surprised about how pigmented the shades were! They are so similar to the naked heat colours and for £9.95 it’s a bargain and although the shadows have a little fall out in the pan the overall coverage is great!

The second item I tried was the contour crayons. It’s a set of 3, contour, bronze and a matte highlight crayons and it also comes with a handy sharpener. I wasn’t such a fan of the contour shade due to it being a bit light in colour for me but I was so pleased with how the other 2 blended in and gave a sculpted effect, and for £7.95 it’s not badly priced.

I then moved onto my lips. I prepped them with the w7 lip scrub and then after applying lip liner I used the winter nudes shade in superstar, although it is a lot pinker in real life, it’s a lovely shade with a great texture. It didn’t dry it make my lips feel sticky….if anything they felt a little hydrated! They have a large range of nudes so there is something for everybody, they retail at £4.95 each so as with all the products they too are reasonably priced.

And then we move onto my favourite, my highlight (pun intended) if you will….the glocomotion highlighter/shimmer. This was a dream, it went on so nice when applied with a flat fan brush and can be built from a natural shimmer to a poppin’ highlight. This has become one of my favourite highlighters and earned it’s place in my makeup bag!

I highly recommend checking these guys out as they have so many dupe palettes and great other products! I haven’t been asked to do this by anyone nor was I sent anything I bought all of these with my own money as I as curious about the dupes and their quality.

Herbalife

Herbalife….a brand a lot of people have an opinion on and like most ‘health conscious’ people I was keen to try these. I wanted to try them and see how it compared taste wise to my usual protein shake.

I was asked which flavour i wanted to try and was instantly drawn to the cookies and cream as it sounded like something sweet and which I would love. It comes in a large white container and you get a lot of product! It’s doesn’t come with a scoop but all you need is a tablespoon measure and you have the correct amount needed! Just mix with 250ml of milk and you are good to go! It tastes the same as my usual protein shakes and as a meal replacement it did leave me full and I felt like I could go until lunchtime without ‘flagging’ or needing a pick me up.

If like me you love a treat then get ready for a healthy version of a naughty classic….I like to turn this into a little semi healthy treat by dipping my cookies into it. You could add some cream and waldon farm syrup for a really indulgence style (and not too bad) for you treat, that’s what I will be doing soon! A semi healthy freak shake….yes please!!

Bourjois Matte Velvet

Oh my goodness…..I can not thank influenster enough for sending me this! The whole range of the velvet matte lipsticks!!! I get to try out all these lipsticks and take a million selfies now haha!

My favs were the more muted/nude shades like no.1 and no.2 but I did also love the red/orange shade and the very shades are so intense. The tear shape lipstick is perfect for application and really hugs the lips for all over solid colour.

They have a smooth feeling texture and dry to give you a lovely hydrating feel which doesn’t crack or make your lips feel dry and flaky and they last all day! Eating and drinking is no issue for these. I’m so excited to wear these lipsticks and really embrace some autumnal makeup looks with the darker shades!

This new range is available throughout many drugstores I.e Superdrug and boots and I really recommend you go and check these out! I am a die hard liquid lipstick fan but these have become a firm favourite on my lips.

So fragrance

As a girl I was obsessed with so kiss me! I would always go into Superdrug or boots or anywhere that sold it and spray myself in it and then feel so grown up buying it. Well now this has kind of come full circle and made my inner girl squeak with excitement when I opened the pr package!

I was sent 3 fragrance mists and an eau de toilette. Sweet pea, toffee and cream, sheer illusion and the ‘ I am so’ way de toilette. The toffee and cream one makes you smell like a bakery, it’s so lovely and sweet! The sweet pea is another slightly sweet yet floral one and my favourite of the mists is the sheer illusion, it is such a ‘me’ smell….not to sweet but such a lovely smell! These are so handy to keep in your bag as they are plastic so no in bag smashes!

I was very sceptical about the eau de toilette as I am very picky with any kind of perfume but this one I got lucky with, again it’s a very me smell….slightly sweet, slightly floral but in no way over powering. I have been wearing it in a daily basis and had many compliments and questions about what I’m wearing.

Thier amazing new range of mists and eau de toilette are available in Superdrug so I would definitely pop in there and have a look/smell as like me you will be pleasantly surprise and won’t regret it!
