Motivation……drive……passion……whatever you call it,  it’s an amazing thing to have! But what happens when you lose it,  and why sometimes it’s good to lose it. 

It’s so easy to have one to many rest days from the gym or to become so busy with work And/or personal life, and it gets hard to fit in those workouts and before you know it, it’s been a week or so and you haven’t been and the desire to go back is slipping as the days are getting darker and shorter! But sometimes this can be a good thing, a rest and time away can make you want it more. As they say, absense makes the heart grow fonder! It can make you want it that little it more, work that little bit hard,  and fall in love with fitness that little bit more. I’ve got some handy tips to help keep you on track whilst you are on or off the fitness wagon……

Drinking….switch the tea/coffee and fizzy drinks for green tea and sparkling flavoured water or normal water. Simple switches that won’t make up for not having a workout but they help toward a healthier you! Green tea is full of anti oxidants and amazing at beating bloating too! Aim to drink 3-4 cups and you will soon see the difference! 

What is that thermopure in the above pic?? It’s the tablet I take 2-3 times a day and I love it! It’s an energy booster and a fat melter. And alongside the green tea and other healthy choices, I notice it! A flatter leave stomach is mine and I put it down to these simple choices. Not saying you don’t need to hit the gym too but alongside it you will see results! 

Healthy eating can also suffer! Working late can mean you don’t have time to make a meal or you are too tired to stand at the oven so you reach for something convenient or you pick up the phone for a takeaway, and no one should feel bad for this! We all need treats or a quick fix and sometimes making a healthy balanced meal each night is a big ask for many busy working/family people. That’s where meal prep comes in handy! Take one day/evening (Sunday is usually a good one) and make a few meals and batch feeeze them! I do this a lot so I always have something at hand to heat up and I know I’m still getting a decent meal! 

Fruit salad! Now this is something I got off a fellow blogger (Lydia Elise Millen) keeping a big bowl of fruit salad in the fridge sounds so simple and easy! And it is, and so handy….especially if you are in a rush for brekkie or fancy a snack. You can add some yoghurt and honey to make it sweeter to settle that sweet tooth craving! Make it as colourful as you want and as adventurous as you want! 

And the last tip to keep you motivated when going to the gym is classes….if nothing they are social. They get you out the house for an hour or so and seeing friends. I find gym people are so friendly and supportive and can give you a great boost to help fire up that spark of enthusiasm again.

  1. I’m a big fan of food prepping – one day a week, I make sure to put plenty of healthy options in my way. It’s the same principle as the fruit salad, I guess: if you have the healthy options readily available, you’ll be less likely to go for the unhealthy ones? 🙂
